Fishing lakes and spiecies

The Kensington Club gives access to a fishing area that covers both the Gatineau Valley and area of the Upper Laurentians. Through these open spaces, fishing enthusiasts can find their paradise to enjoy the simple little moments of life.

The Coop participates in support of the aquatic environment and fishing by ensuring the stocking lakes with different species: speckled trout (brook trout), brown trout, rainbow trout, splake.

In addition to these efforts made by their co-op, members have formed a group that increases the stocking investment: The Old Timers Club. Thus, each year the Old Timers collect donations that is then returned to the co-op to increase the input of fish in lakes.

Lake Kensington

The Kensington Club gives immediate access to the lake of the same name. Lake Kensington has an approximate length of 6 km and consists of six bays : the Riel Bay, the Seguin Bay, the Black Bay, the Lievre, the Roy and the Hamilton bay are all connected by channels called the Narrows. Featuring a variety of lake bottoms such as sand, rock and mud, and presenting depths ranging from 5 to 50 meters (15 to 150 feet), this lake is great for fishing for grey trout, speckled trout, pike, smallmouth bass and yellow perch.

Lakes

All around the Kensington lake, you will fin twenty smaller lakes which each have their own character. Most offer a dock on the Kensington lake, a trail and a boat with oars. It is also possible to bring an electric motor on the small lakes.
